Where is located Titisee-Neustadt?

Titisee-Neustadt is located in the southern black forest abt. 35 km to east from Freiburg, in the attractive area of the black forest (Feldberg, Hinterzarten and Schluchsee).

The village Titisee, where our houses are located is a part of the city Titisee-Neustadt. The city has in total abt. 12.000 inhabitants, of which abt. 2.500 live in Titisee.

The Southern Black Forest

The health resort is laying in the sunny Haslach-valley in a height of 810 – 1100 above sea level. The health centre with its very beautiful park is located in the middle of the city. Here you will find shops, restaurants, cafes, a cinema as well as a very nice event hall.

Resort with highest recreational value

Titisee-Neustadt is assigned as health resort and as family resort. The land Baden-Württemberg has honoured Titisee-Neustadt as family resort again in 2003 because of its child- and family-friendly offers. According to the federal statistic office Titisee is the resort with the highest recreational value.

The Titisee

The scenic highlight is without no doubt the wonderful lake Titisee with its crystal clear water.

The lake is located 858 metres high between bosky hillsides with the Feldberg mountain on the one side and the mountain Hochfirst at the other side. The lake is 2 km long, 700 m wide and 45 m deep – it is the biggest natural lake in the black wood forest. It is feeded by the springs of the mountain range Feldberg and is standing under nature preservation. As an important fresh water reservoir in the region, the lake offers space for many different fishes. Very low waterside buildings and enchanting landscape make him one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.

After rendering it to a pedestrian area and rebuilding it to a lake promenade the lake street became the most wonderful boulevard of the southern black wood forest.

Sports and fun

For the tourists Titisee offers many different proposals. Never ending hiking routes and excellent winter sports installations are located in the heights of the black wood forest. It is also taken care for those who are looking for a family holiday.

The touristic infrastructure of Titisee ranges form a health centre over a well signed net of hiking routes and a learning route for water types up to an open air and shore bath directly at the lake.

Titisee is a popular place of excursions with many offers for water sports. You can bath, swim, fish, row, sail and surf. Furthermore you can surround the lake on a wonderful path within 1,5 hours.

During winter times the lake is often frozen and looks marvelleous. In addition you can enjoy the wide net of cross-country-ski-runs, ski-runs, and the 1,2 km long tobbogan run at the mountain Hochfirst.

Neustadt

The city Neustadt is strongly focused on sports. On the jump at the mountain Hochfirst – the biggest natural jump of the world – yearly meets the world leaders of ski jumpers. Since December 2001 Neustadt is carrying out the FIS world cup for ski jumpers. In addition, each spring there takes place a tournament of table tennis of the German League no. 1 +2.
